why are people assholes?

i hate my job. I hate it. I hate it. Yesterday, I spent 30mins of lunch crying my eyes out and another 30mins trying to pretend i hadn't been crying. Why does it feel like I'm a slave in some elitist boys club? Why do we go to school for 13 years and uni for another 3 - 5 years to do this? This is insane.
