Loyalty

I don't think I can really ever think of a time before this weekend, when someone really stood up for me. Miss Apples didn't even have to think about it twice. She just asked him the questions I have been to afraid to ask him... Why does he continue to offer hurt & instability? So simple. Plus a gentle or not-so-gentle slap across the face...

I'm sure she told me what he said in response but oddly enough, I can't even remember, not sure I care. It's not important. I'm so overwhelmed by her loyalty and bravery... So overwhelmed, how did i get so lucky? People live their whole lives without loyalty like that.

She made everything so simple. And not even in a black/white way. She made it clear to both of us that I had my issues, and he had his issues, but if there were sides to be taken, she was taking mine. I'm the one hurting.

She also said that she could tell he loved me from the look in his eyes. She's a great judge of character, so I believe her - but what kind of love is this that let's him hurt me so badly?

Unimportant... I think it's time I started focussing on the trees that bear fruit - like apples, on the fruit that loves me, cares for me, would never intentionally hurt me, so that the good apples in my life, don't have to yell, slap or deal with the bad apples.

Need good apples.
